Gone are the days when wearing sweatpants in public was thought to be taboo. There's no surprise that the fashion world is a constant re-inspiration of new trends and I am loving this new street wear style. Growing up in the rough parts of Los Angeles I get so excited to "dress up" low key pieces like, sweat pants. So how on earth can one style such a casual, street piece? Here are MY Top 5 tips on how to style sweats. 1.) Chose your sweat pants with a "Jogger" concept in mind. Meaning, make sure the sweat pants you chose have an elastic waist band and elastic leg hems. The Jogger style will give your body shape and structure. I also personally really love love love the drawstrings on an elasticized waist. The drawstrings make for such a fierce feature on this casual piece. 2.) Show some "Church leg". LOL. Who remembers Drew Barrymore and Robby Hearts' "Church tongue" (BEST MOVIE EVER, insert crying emoji). Lift the elasticized leg a few inches above your shoe to show the smallest amount of skin, church skin LOL. This small action will make such a smooth eye traveling juxtaposition to the structure of your entire outfit. 3.) Add a Structured Jacket. Take advantage of this look during the chilly weather and because its chilly, adding a jacket comes without a heatwave price, if you know what I mean. By adding a structured jacket like a leather or jean jacket, even a cardigan, your outfit comes to life. A structured jacket allows you to play with texture, color and adding a more clean, sharp piece to a slouchy look. By adding a jacket your not going to get lost in all the fabric or look 10 lbs heavier. It will actually give you a narrowing effect and thin everything out. 4.) Accessorize. Accessories are a must when you have such a casual look but don't over do it. Add those finishing touches, a delicate thin necklace, a simple ring, bracelet. I would also suggest wearing a nice bag, hat or some sort of head accessory. A head piece can be a pair of glasses or a scarf. In my opinion Ive seen that a fun accessory on the top of your body balances this outfit. If your feeling up to it consider your shoes as an accessory as well by pairing your sweats with a gorgeous pointy toe pump. 5.) Hair and Makeup. Last but oh definitely not least make sure you've done your hair and makeup. When you think of sweats you think lazy, and just rolled out of bed. By implementing having a clean face with highlighted details and putting a little bit of effort into your hair youve thrown off the whole jogger sweats stereotype. Hair and makeup brings the entire look together. You absolutely do not have to follow these "rules" by any means these are just my tips and guidelines I follow to put my look together when wearing sweat pants. Heres some Inspiration

I came across a blogger a few weeks ago on my search for finding homeschooling mamas. Charlotte Mason homeschools 5 sweet babes and she wrote a blog about Journaling and all the adventures and community that can await through writing. I read this meme a while ago that flashes back, like clockwork on a day to day basis, "Behind every amazing kid theres a mom pretty sure she's screwing it all up!" 😂 If that doesn't describe my experience in motherhood to a T I don't know what does! Mom guilt, its a thing and it is real! No one hands over an instruction manual when you've been handed the baton to be, mom. Heres something people may not tell you, many times you will fail. You WILL fall short, you'll disappoint yourself from the standards you've set to achieve. Being mom means feeling overwhelmed, staying up late worrying, being haunted with "I should haves". Its hard work! Definitely not an occupation for the faint of heart, but wait theres more😏😂. You'll be critical, critical of yourself, your looks, your ability, your calling. The Good News is you grabbed that baton and you are still hanging on for dear life! You've made the hardest decision, the challenge to stick around no matter what! You are a fighter! Sure somedays you might just get by, by the skin of your teeth but you have pushed through like the warrior you are! You have fought through the changes in your physical body, and then again, and again! You have fought through depression, baby blues, their first colds, and even those first few moments of mom guilt and you never stopped pushing! Perseverance defined as, a steady persistence in a course of action, a purpose, a state, etc.,especially in spite of difficulties, obstacles, or discouragement. You're reading this now, that alone tells me you still have fire in you, a hope set out to be, mom. There is an abundance in knowledge and opportunities and your taking advantage of it. I wish someone would have told me from the beginning, as long as there is always the desire to persevere even through times of difficulty you will succeed, your kids would be exactly, amazing! Your kids are capable of doing great things! People are going to compliment you on how amazing they are, receive those words and use them to fuel your fire, after all their a reflection of you, amazing. <3 Be encouraged future of Elizabeth and every eye that reads this post. xo , Liz |
